"Digitally literate students participating in worldwide learning communities"
Good Shepherd Catholic College is committed to ensuring that all members of the learning community have access to ICTs that encourage excellence in teaching and learning and prepare students for their role in the future workforce and life.
Good Shepherd Catholic College, in conjunction with the Townsville Catholic Education Office, fully embraces the Google Apps for Education suite. This powerful, online solution provides our students and staff enormous online potential for creation, collaboration and efficiency.
With this in mind, the College operates a Chromebook program for all students in Years 7 - 12. Chromebook's are an ideal interface to allow students to quickly and easily interact with all online resources and activities that the College uses to enhance the learning and teaching that takes place. The program is compulsory for all students in Years 7-10, with Year 11 & 12 students having the additional option of participating in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program, allowing them to use their own personal laptops.
All Year 7, and New students to the College are issued a device on their first day, with charges being added to Term One School Fees. This allows them to be connected, and accessing digital resources as soon as possible.
